On the morning of July 10th, the closing ceremony of the 4th “Flying across the Taiwan Strait Activities for the Youth” was successfully held in our college.President Zhao Chixuan, Yang Jianhui, director of the Department of InternationalExchanges and Cooperation, Hunjun, deputy director of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation as well as more than 60 teachers and students from relevant colleges participated in the closing ceremony.

Preisdent Zhao Chixuan delivered a speech. First of all, on behalf of the SITC, he expressed warm welcome and sincere greetings to teachers and students from Taiwan and the mainland China. Subsequently,PresidentZhao cited the classics to show the water rhyme culture of Suzhou and SITC as well. In the beautiful poetry songs and interesting historical stories, the teachers and students learned about the unique water culture charm of Jiangnan Water Village. Finally, Preisdent Zhao put forward three hopes for the young students from both sides of the strait: First, hehoped that the young students from both sides of the strait would be united and love each other and shoulder the heavy responsibility of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Second,he hoped that young students from the two sides of the strait would work together to carry forward the traditional culture and civilization of the Chinese nation. Third, he hoped that young students from both sides of the strait would enhance their understanding, develop friendship and become the messengers of cross-strait cultural exchanges.

At the end of the closing ceremony, President Zhao Chixuan issued certificates for the participants of the activity. Representatives of teachers and students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait took a group photo.
